ISSUE:
The State Center Community College District Police Department is seeking entry into the POST Public Safety Dispatcher Program.
BACKGROUND:
The State Center Community College District Police Department has requested to participate in the POST Reimbursable Public Safety Dispatcher Program pursuant to Penal Code section 13510(c).  The agency has agreed to abide by POST regulations.  A Resolution of the State Center Community College District was adopted on October 6, 2015, as required by Penal Code section 13522.  The State Center Community College District Peace Officers entered the POST Regular Officer Program on October 21, 1981.
ANALYSIS:
The agency presently employs four Public Safety Dispatchers.  The Public Safety Dispatchers have completed the basic Public Safety Dispatcher Course.  The fiscal impact for reimbursement of training would consist of reimbursement for Continuing Professional Training for four full-time Public Safety Dispatchers.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Commission is advised that the State Center Community College District Police Department has been accepted into the Public Safety Dispatcher Program.
