ISSUE:
Should the Commission approve staff recommendation to add Strategic Plan Objective (SPO) B.16.12 to the POST Strategic Plan?
BACKGROUND:
This report describes an objective that is recommended for addition to the Strategic Plan.
ANALYSIS:
 
One objective is recommended for addition:
 
  • SPO B.16.12--Develop an interactive, multimedia version of the POST Student Workbooks to provide for more learning modalities, accelerate distribution of content updates, and realize cost savings for cadets.

Reasons: Staff recommends the addition of this objective as a means to improve the learning effectiveness of POST Student Workbooks.  It would provide an enhanced presentation and more timely distribution of Student Workbook content, and a more cost-efficient way for cadets to obtain the Workbooks.  Prototypes for two Learning Domain (LD) Workbooks, such as LDs 5 and 19, would be developed for review.  Following a successful pilot, the full set of Workbooks would be developed upon Commission approval of any contract work that would be required.  

 

Recommendation: Add new objective.
RECOMMENDATION:
In approving the Consent Calendar, the Commission accepts this recommendation from staff concerning the Strategic Plan.
