| ISSUE: |
| This is an informational report accepting the The Amtrak Police Department's request to enter into the POST Non-Reimbursable Peace Officer Program. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| The Amtrak Police Department has requested to participate in the POST Non-Reimbursable Peace Officer Program pursuant to Penal Code 13510.5. The agency has agreed to abide by Commission Regulations for training and selection standards. A Resolution of the Board of Directors of the National Railroad Corporation was adopted on September 24, 2014, as required by POST Regulation 1010. |
| ANALYSIS: |
| The agency presently employs twenty-nine (29) peace officers. There will be no fiscal impact as this department is non-reimbursable pursuant to Penal Code 13523. |
| RECOMMENDATION: |
| The Commission is advised that the Amtrak Police Department has been accepted into the POST Non-Reimbursable Peace Officer Program. |
