ISSUE:
Update the Commission on recent regulatory actions related to POST.
BACKGROUND:

Current Regulation Packages approved by Commission and under review by OAL:     

Regulations 1004, 1005, 1081- Amendment to Field Training Program Requirements (Anticipated Effective Date: February 15, 2018)

Regulations 1005, 1007, 1008, 1052 - Amendment to the POST Basic Courses Test Management and Security Protocols (2017) (Anticipated Effective Date: April 1, 2018)

Regulations 1951, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1959, 1960 - Amendment to Peace Officer and Public Safety Dispatcher Selection Standards (Anticipated Effective Date: April 1, 2018)

Regulations 1005, 1007, 1008 - Amend and Update the Training and Testing Specifications for Peace Officer Basic Courses (Anticipated Effective Date: April 1, 2018)

Regulations 1001, 1005, 1008 - Amend Basic Course Requalification and Basic Course Waiver Requirements (D-10 and D-11) (Anticipated Effective Date: April 1, 2018)

Regulation 1005 - Amendment to Supervisory and Management Training Requirements (Anticipated Effective Date: July 1, 2018)

ANALYSIS:

No new regulatory packages have been approved by OAL since the last Commission Meeting on October, 26, 2017.

Out of the six regulatory packages submitted and currently under review by OAL.

Three were submitted in November 2017, and if approved, will likely have an effective date of April 1, 2018.

The fourth package was submitted in December 2017, and if approved, will likely have an effective date of February 15, 2018. 

The fifth package was submitted in December 2017, and if approved, will likely be effective April 1, 2018.

The sixth regulatory package was submitted in January 2018, and if approved, will likely have an effective date of July 1, 2018.
