ISSUE:
The Val Verde Unified School District Police Department is seeking entry into the POST Reimbursable Peace Officer Program for its peace officers.
BACKGROUND:
The Val Verde Unified School District Police Department has requested to participate in the POST Reimbursable Peace Officer Program for its peace officers, pursuant to Penal Code 13510(a) and 13522.  The agency has agreed to abide by POST regulations.  A Resolution of the Governing Board of Education of the Val Verde Unified School District was adopted on April 10, 2018, as required by Penal Code 13522. 
ANALYSIS:

The agency presently employees one (1) peace officer.

Fiscal impact for reimbursement of training would consist of reimbursement for CPT for one (1) peace officer.

RECOMMENDATION:
The Commission is advised that the Val Verde Unified School District Police Department has been accepted into the POST Reimbursable Peace Officer Program for their peace officer. The POST program acceptance letter is attached.
