ISSUE:
The Apple Valley Unified School District Police Department is seeking entry into the POST Reimbursable Peace Officer Program for its peace officers.
BACKGROUND:
The Apple Valley Unified School District Police Department has requested to participate in the POST Reimbursable Peace Officer Program for its peace officers, pursuant to Penal Code 13510(a) and 13522. The agency has agreed to abide by POST Regulations.  A Resolution of the Apple Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees was adopted on December 7, 2017, as required by Penal Code 13522.
ANALYSIS:

The agency presently employs nine (9) peace officers.

 

Fiscal impact for reimbursement of training would consist of reimbursement for CPT for the nine (9) officers.

RECOMMENDATION:

The Commission is advised that the Apple Valley Unified School District Police Department has been accepted into the POST Reimbursable Peace Officer Program for its peace officers.
