ISSUE:
Los Angeles City Department of General Services has been disbanded effective October 18, 2012.
BACKGROUND:
Law Enforcement services for Los Angeles City Department of General Services were transferred to the Los Angeles Police Department in 2012.  Los Angeles City Department of General Services will be formally released from the POST Non-Reimbursable Program.
ANALYSIS:
Training Delivery and Compliance staff received an inquiry from the field questioning when the last time a compliance audit had been completed at this agency.  The last compliance audit was in July 2010 and it has been determined this agency was never formally removed from the POST Program.  Specifically, on or about October 2012, POST received written notification from the Los Angeles Police Department regarding the disbandment of the agency.  Due to an administrative oversight at that time, POST Electronic Data Interchange records were not changed accordingly and the Commission was not notified.  This agenda item corrects the administrative oversight by providing notification to the Commission.
RECOMMENDATION:

This item is informational only. There is no need for the Commsssion to take any action.
