The 80-hour mandated Supervisory Course must be completed within 12 months of promotion or appointment to a first-level supervisory position. It is designed to transition new supervisors into the first level of leadership and includes topics such as Accountability, Communication with a Diverse Workforce, Conflict Management, Counseling, Leadership, and Decision-Making Models.
POST estimates that approximately 960 persons will need to attend the Supervisory Course this year. With a class size of 30 students, POST plans 32 presentations between all of the presenters. The FY 2016-17 contract is the same amount as last year.
