ISSUE:
Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Cannabis Control has been approved to enter into the POST Non-Reimbursable Program for its investigators. This item is informational only, and no action is required of the Commission. 
BACKGROUND:

The Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Cannabis Control is a new State of California agency with the passing of the State of California budget for Fiscal Year 2020/2021. The Cannabis Control unit was under the Division of Investigation. 

The Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Cannabis Control has been approved to participate in the POST Non-Reimbursable Program pursuant to Penal Codes 13510(a) and 13522. The agency has agreed to abide by POST Regulations. A letter of intent has been received from Chief Lori Ajax. A Resolution or Ordinance is not required for state agencies to join the program. 

ANALYSIS:
The agency presently employs two (2) full-time peace officers. All officers have completed appropriate basic training. 
RECOMMENDATION:

The Commission is advised that the Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Cannabis Control has been accepted into the POST Non-Reimbursable Program.
