Should the Commission authorize the Executive Director to enter into contracts with qualifying entities for the presentation of the POST Instructor Development Institute (IDI) in an amount not to exceed $764,854.35? |
BACKGROUND: |
The Training Program Services (TPS) Bureau fulfills POST’s vision through the development and maintenance of training curricula for California Peace Officers. TPS utilizes annual contracts to provide mandated and necessary training in the areas of leadership, criminal investigations, future foresight, supervision, management, instructor development, diversity, and tolerance.
TPS maintains quality and excellence in its training course through quality assessment, instructor development, and curriculum updates to incorporate and address contemporary issues and subject matter improvements.

ANALYSIS: |
Maximum budget expenditures are described in Attachment A.
The proposed budget did not increase from the previous fiscal year.
The current contract will expire at the end of this fiscal year 2020/2021.

RECOMMENDATION: |
POST staff recommends the Commission authorize the Executive Director to enter into contracts with qualifying entities for the presentation of the POST Instructor Development Institute in an amount not to exceed $764,854.35.
