EXECUTIVE OFFICE
D.Report on Amendment to Regulation 1015 and Commission Procedure E-3-2, Maximum Reimbursement Rates

At the February 2020 Commission Meeting, the Commission approved an increase in agency reimbursement for the basic academy, or Regular Basic Course (RBC), from 664 to 800 hours. The Commission also approved increasing the agency daily reimbursement rate from $50.00 to $75.00. After the February Commission Meeting, upon further review of the content, POST staff realized the maximum hours/weeks for the RBC (Modular Format) Modules III, II and I were not updated to match the newly approved changes to the RBC (Standard Format). Additionally, with the approved changes to reimbursable hours under the RBC (Standard Format), it was also noticed that the maximum weeks under the RBC (Standard Format) should have been updated from 16 weeks to 20 weeks in order to equal a maximum of 800 reimbursable hours.

(20 weeks X 40 hours = 800 maximum hours)

POST staff recommends approving these revisions for the purpose of ensuring consistency with existing language and clarity of the increase in the reimbursement rate structure for both the Regular Basic Course (Standard Format) and the Regular Basic Course (Modular Format, Intensive Presentation Only).

If the Commission concurs, the appropriate action would be a MOTION to approve the proposed changes to Regulation 1015, maximum reimbursement rates, as described in the staff report.
